Audits is the desk's matchup board for play-by-play next to the book move. It is a source-backed tape of captured pitches, plays, and sportsbook movement — not a recap, not a narrative, and not a pick sheet.
A recap tells you the score. It does not tell you whether a book moved on the play, after the play, or on nothing you can check. Audits exists so the play log and the book tape sit on one Eastern Time board, with source stamps, instead of a story that cannot be replayed.
When a number jumps, you can open the matchup and see the captured play next to the captured book move. That is how you separate a move that has a source from a move that does not. Coverage on this desk is MLB, NFL, and college (NCAAF and NCAAB). Pitch Pattern is MLB only.
Open a matchup on the Audits board. Pitch Pattern, Odds Audit, and Dual rail stay pinned with the game. Child views fetch only when opened. If capture is waiting or failed, the desk says so — it does not fill the gap with a recap.
Pitch Pattern is the MLB action on this desk. It reads tonight's pitch mix and location against the batter's season norm and says plainly when the two have come apart — what changed, by how much, and off how small a sample. It is descriptive. It tells you the pitcher is working differently than usual; it does not tell you what happens next, and it says so on the card.
