Responsible Gambling

The Cold Line is sports analytics and market-research software, not a sportsbook. We do not accept, place, arrange, transmit, execute, or settle wagers. We do not hold customer funds for betting. There are no prizes and no paid-entry contests. Outputs are analytics, estimates, projections, simulations, signals, classifications, and research — not picks for sale. No outcome is guaranteed. Sports betting involves risk of loss.
Our Commitment
We built The Cold Line to give independent researchers clearer information. Better information does not eliminate risk. If you use sports betting as entertainment, use only money you can afford to lose. If it stops being fun, something is wrong.
We are committed to:
- Providing honest, transparent analytics without overstating model accuracy
- Never guaranteeing outcomes or instructing a wager
- Displaying clear disclaimers on predictions, edge calculations, and model outputs
- Supporting users who want to reduce or stop gambling activity
Set Your Limits
If you choose to wager elsewhere, set limits for yourself and keep them:
- Budget limit. Decide how much money you can afford to lose in a week or month. Do not exceed this amount. Winning streaks end. Models go cold.
- Time limit. Set a maximum amount of time you spend on betting-related activity per day. Constant monitoring of lines, odds, and model outputs can become compulsive.
- Loss limit. Decide in advance the maximum loss you will accept before stopping. Do not chase losses. If you hit your loss limit, walk away.
- Educational tools. Optional allocation calculators on this site are educational estimates based on user-supplied assumptions. They are not wager instructions or guarantees.
Warning Signs
Gambling may be becoming a problem if you:
- Bet more than you can afford to lose
- Chase losses by increasing activity after losing
- Feel anxious, irritable, or restless when not betting
- Lie to family or friends about how much you gamble
- Borrow money or sell possessions to fund gambling
- Neglect work, relationships, or responsibilities because of gambling
- Feel unable to stop or cut back despite wanting to
- Gamble to escape problems or relieve feelings of helplessness or depression
- Need increasing activity to feel the same excitement
- Have attempted to cut back or stop gambling and failed
If any of these apply to you, please reach out for help. There is no shame in seeking support.
