The live total and remainder read on the Future desk. Not a standalone sportsbook total — a module that sits inside Future Plate Read and keeps the posted first-pitch number honest against the game that is happening now.
Total Signal is the live total and remainder read on the Future desk. It sits inside Future Plate Read as a module, not as its own sportsbook total. The card shows stage readiness, the live total next to the signal total, and the delta between them. Those totals come from the live signal plus the opener and live odds. They are never filled in from a demo deck.
The posted total is a first-pitch number. The game state is not. Runs score, the pitcher changes, leverage moves, and the remainder of the game is no longer the game that was priced before the first pitch. Total Signal exists so Future Plate Read can keep that distinction on the desk instead of treating the opening total as if it were still the game.
You can see whether the live market still fits the remainder of the game, how far the signal has matured, and what the current delta is — or that no earned read exists yet. Awaiting, forming, and earned (including an earned-neutral read) stay distinct. That is useful because a first-pitch total does not update itself when the game does.
The module lives on Future Plate Read. It reads the live signal together with the opener and odds, then renders stage readiness, live versus signal total, and delta context. If the live total is missing, it waits. If the books are in but the model has not earned a projection, it says the signal is still forming. It does not invent a sample number to fill the gap. The still on this page is that card on a live game, captured on the desk — the numbers in it came from that game and nowhere else, and the desk never fills them from a demo deck.
