The Cold Line
Five minutes. Zero jargon. By the end of this page you'll know exactly what we do, how to read the board, and where the free stuff ends and the paid stuff begins.
When a sportsbook puts up a game, it posts a number. Say the book thinks the Jaguars are 3 points better than the Titans — it posts Jaguars -3. That number is the book's opinion. And opinions can be wrong.
We build our own number for every game. We call it the Cold Line. Our model chews through the stuff that actually moves games — travel, rest, weather, injuries, how teams really perform — and spits out what the number should be.
Read it like this: the book is selling the Jaguars cheaper than they should be. If our number is right, laying -3 is getting a bargain — you're being asked to cover 3 when the true gap is 5.5. That 2.5-point difference is called an edge. Finding gaps like that, before the book fixes them, is the whole product.
Sign in and the Today page shows one card per game. Here's a card with everything labeled:
Where's our number? Open the 🧊 Builder on any game — it starts on our default settings and shows the line we compute, which you can compare with the book's number above.
Pick who wins the game. No head starts, no math. Underdogs pay more because they win less often.
The head start. The favorite 'gives' points, the underdog 'gets' them.
Both teams’ points added together. The market prices an over side and an under side of that number.
The gap between the book’s number and the true number. Bigger gap, better bet.
Numbers change as money comes in. Where a line opens vs. where it closes tells a story.
The book’s fee, hidden in the odds. -110 means bet $110 to win $100.

A robot that checks every sportsbook's numbers against the sharp line — the price posted by the smartest, highest-limit bookmakers — all day, and flags the books lagging behind it. Each row says: here's the game, here's your book's price, here's the sharp price, here's how big the gap is, and here's how much a careful bettor would put on it. This is what the board looks like:
| Market | Book | Sharp | Edge | Allocation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Away @ Home · ML | +142 | +118 | +24¢ | 1.8u |
| Away @ Home · Total O | -105 | -124 | +19¢ | 1.2u |
| Away @ Home · Spread | -110 | -102 | +8¢ | 0.5u |
