What is a unit in sports betting? A standardized bet size, typically 1-2% of your bankroll. In plain terms: A way to measure bet sizes. If 1 unit = $10, "I bet 2 units" means $20. Keeping every bet near one unit protects your bankroll from big swings. A bettor who says they are up five units means five of their standard bets. “How many units are we up on the season?” Let's use this example. For an illustrative $5,000 bankroll plan, 1 unit is 2 percent: $5,000 times 0.02 equals $100. Two units is 2 times $100, or $200. The percentage is an example, not a universal instruction. Lines move and books differ. Nothing here is a guarantee or a command to bet — it's how the number works.
