Here is what it actually costs. The standard charge is ten cents of juice per half point: Kansas City minus 6.5 at minus 110 becomes minus 6 at minus 120. But key numbers cost more, because they are worth more — around three, books charge about twenty-five cents, so buying minus 3 down to minus 2.5 takes you from minus 110 to roughly minus 135. Around seven it runs about fifteen cents. On DraftKings or FanDuel you will not see a buy-points button at all — you pick from pre-priced alternate spreads, and the price gap between lines IS the charge, ballooning as you cross three or seven. The honest math: paying twenty-five cents for half a point is rarely worth it — the half points worth real money are exactly the ones priced like it. Lines move and books differ. Nothing here is a guarantee or a command to bet — it's how the number works.
