Winning both sides of a bet due to line movement.
What is a middle in sports betting? A middle is two opposite-side spread bets at different numbers that can both win if the final margin lands between those numbers. “Did you see Buckeye had the Eagles at plus 4 today? I wound up catching the middle on the slow line move — Pinnacle had minus 2, and miraculously it landed on 3.” Let's use this example. At Book A, the ticket is Kansas City minus two. At Book B, the opposite side is Miami plus four. Kansas City wins by three. Three is greater than two, so Kansas City minus two covers. Miami lost by only three, which is fewer than four, so Miami plus four also covers. The margin landed inside the gap: two is less than three, and three is less than four. Both spread tickets win. Different accepted lines created the middle; the result was never guaranteed. Lines and prices can differ by sportsbook. Nothing here guarantees a result or tells you to bet. Lines move and books differ. Nothing here is a guarantee or a command to bet — it's how the number works.
